The provider may ask whether the door is open, closed, or stuck partway. Explain whether the opener makes a sound and when the problem began. Mention visible damage without approaching loose parts or moving the door to demonstrate the fault. If you are seeking emergency garage service, describe the access problem and ask about availability. An appointment time needs confirmation from the provider.

Ask how the proposed repair helps

You can ask useful questions without knowing how a garage door works. Start with the fault the provider found, then discuss the proposed fix.

• Which parts does this estimate include?
